Right now I'm super excited for the trip coming up in September... I'm trying to use the excitement to force myself to learn the language, but that's kind of a slow process right now. I'd be happy to hear about anyone's experiences while in Rome and the surrounding area. I've never been, so I want to make the most of it.

Well I finally made it to Seattle.Last night I was greeted by the lovely Maegan in Seattle.Once we battled through the airport crowds we headed out into Seattle.First impressions...... A LOT OF FREEWAYS.WOW!! I could not believe how many freeways there were. It seemed as though every turn Maegan took we were on another freeway.Maegan took me to the infamous Dick's Burgers so that I could taste a Seattle speciality. I was not disappointed. We then headed back to her place where I met her dad an…

Nature-loving empty-nesters chuck it all and wander from Panama City to Cancun for three months, riding the buses, carrying only small backpacks, making no reservations anywhere, and spending about $50/day for the two of us. We had a marvelous time.

On the flight from Delhi to Newark, I sat next to a
young Indian bride who was dressed in a fine pink sari with much gold
embroidery. She wore (she said) about
thirty pink and gold bangles on each arm, stacked from her wrists to her
elbows, and she had heavy gold earrings as well as a nose ring. She came from a village in Rajasthan, and
described for me how her marriage had been arranged by her parents and her
in-laws. First her parents had gone
through the matrimonia…

Natasha and Tom finally finished packing around lunchtime and we left.
Unfortunatly they didn't seem to have bought everything that they
needed and I spent several hours either watching Ilya in parking lots
or following them around in stores. Once we had everything we resumed
our trip and finally got to Seattle around 10.

Day 1 – October 24, 2007The beginning. 1:55 in the morning is either way too early or way too late, I’m not quite sure. I’m just thankful for those ever wise words, “better living through chemistry” and for sleeping pills. I slept the first 7ish hours of the 12 hour flight to Taipei. I didn’t think it was possible but there really is such a thing as a seat the size of a breadbox.
