An Australian expat living in Seattle: Seattle Travel Photos

Tuesday was amazing. The like of which I have never seen in America before. Everyone was full of nervous energy and perfect strangers were first partners in anticipation and then in celebration. I yelled myself hoarse with joy, and I was not alone. It was certainly a big day for America. They repudiated the extremist policies of George Bush and John McCain and turned to an outstanding man, Barack Hussein Obama, for leadership. It was America's finest moment in forty years. But let's …

Yeah, just when my mothering instincts were getting the best of me, I had an eye-awakening moment and saw what life could have been like (I know only for a day, but...) if I chose to have children. My sister in law had a neighborhood support group to attend. It was the first meeting and these were all women who had children around the same time my sister in law had Santiago. There were 10 women and 12 babies. 2 of the women had twins. Wow, listening to their stories of what child birth was lik…

The S-t-a-r-b-u-c-k-s Game
posted by:
Sep 14, 2003 - Sep 25, 2007
As we strolled through the city, we created a little game called the "Starbucks Game".As you walked the streets, the first person to spot a Starbucks Coffee Shop would call out "Starbucks!". For each one you see you gain one letter to spell the word: S-T-A-R-B-U-C-K-S.   The winner gets a free drink of choice at the winning Starbucks! You'd be surprised how quickly you can get through this game!

Seattle and Victoria Trip: Seattle Travel Photos

A 25 hour train trip to Seattle, Washington. The Pacific NorthWest is so lush and beautiful, amazingly it only drizzled once the entire week...and that was at the end of our day trip to Victoria, Canada. Lots of good food there, had Thai one night and Ethiopian food the next. Some really great bubble tea too!!

Ok, here are the long awaited photos of my early years. I don’t have a lot of time to go into all the details right now, but take a look at some of the clothes. Can you believe has quickly fashion has evolved. I am talking about that white tux.   Graduation was a blast, water skiing is a rush, and the inner tubes are an adventure in themselves. And we all know about Mardi Gras. I truly love my mom and my brother and I had fun that day. Seattle is a blast and the ducks really did min…

Monday was a day of total relaxation.  Tuesday, Steve was able to take the day off work and so both he and his wife joined us in our sites-seeing.  We took them places they hadn’t visited in twenty years or more.    Today we will spend the day looking at sights around Seattle.  First the Japanese Gardens near the University.  We strolled through slowly and enjoyed the nice weather and wonderful surroundings.   Then east only about 25 miles to Snoqua…

Patrick came to visit Seattle from Phoenix Arizona, and took me up on my offer to help. He was in town by himself and said he would love to experience some stuff with new people.  I had a couple days off that week while he was here, so we toured around the city a bit on the first day after I picked him up from the airport, and another day that ended in two bottles of wine before he left :) I will post this now finally, and write more later so pat can see the pics and so others coming i…

My business is really begining to take off. It seems that each and every time I have the opportunity to talk about my business, I find someone who has a need for the products I sell. I get the opportunity to attend motivational rallies almost every weekend and there I get to talk with and share information and stories about our success. Many of my friends have expressed how much they like the products I sell. You can see Stacey and Ashley enjoying Perfect Water and some of the Terra chips. Yo…

Seattle, Washington - Does Anyone Know Where to Find a Starbucks?!?
posted by:
Oct 17, 2004
Ah, Seattle, Washington.  The home of Grunge, Starbucks and butt cold rainy days!  I should know I have been there many times and even lived there for a couple months while I was in a show.  It rains…a lot!  More than Portland, Oregon even.  And it doesn’t just rain, oh no!  It is windy and the rain comes at you sideways.  You can’t escape!  I have no beef with Seattle, none, but I don’t think I could live there.  Sorry Seattle, I would sti…

Our last day we decided to do yet another foodie tour before leaving. I bought smoked salmon, Dahlia Bakery, went to Macrina Bakery since we saw it on the food channel, went to Salumi (food channel), Piroshky Piroshky (food channel)- again-and Pike Place -again-, Icon Grill for hot fudge sundae. YES this was all in 1 day lol.  I am really looking forward to spending quality time with my trainer and my elliptical machine and weights at the gym hahahaha.

Seeing the Sights

We happen to have family in Seattle who were able to show us around all the great spots.  I found this city to be quite welcoming.  I really liked the laid back vibe.  Definitely go see Dale Chihuly's glass artwork exhibits...they are stunning!  I got to do some great shopping...I especially loved shopping at Nordstrom's Flagship store!  Pike Place is great...and it was so fun visiting the very first Starbuck's!  We ate at some great restaurants, p…

Again today we are up rather late for another trip into Seattle.  A simple breakfast of cereal and yogurt and a few minutes to finish our coffee and we’re off again for a day in Seattle.   Today we get to see the world famous Pike Place Market.  We have seen reviews everywhere about it and look forward to a fun time at a wonderful place. And I must say that for most people it would be a great day. Browsing and window shopping the many shops and areas is fun. And watching th…

From what I've gleaned from the 3 separate times I've visited...I love Seattle. Absolutely everything about it speaks to me in a very satisfying way. I remember when I was in college and looking at medical schools, I wanted more than anything to go to Univ. of Seattle because their medical program involved an internship where they split up the class - half of them go to the poor inner city to serve their populus while the other half go into the wilderness to assist there. Because let's face i…

Not only have I been to this city before due to family and friends - I had the opportunity to meet up with a travbuddy! Met up with Shane and I must recommend that he is a great travbuddy! Had many ideas to show me, but since I didn't have much time - we decided to "wing" it. He was able to show me Gasworks park - "what the hell - it's @#$^& freezing!", Green Lake - I think that's the name - beautiful area where you can jog/run/walk around a lake - and as he said - "in the summertime it's gr…
