Snorkelling trip to Ko Tao not worth your money Mar 20, 2008
I booked a snorkelling trip with this company on advice of and through a booking agency in Haad Rin on Ko Pha Ngan. I regret doing this.
The trip is with a big boat with up to 75 people and can be done from Ko Samui and Ko Pha Ngan. The trip takes you to Ko Tao to do the actual snorkelling. The company did not deliver what they promised in the brochure. The boat was delayed considerably (reducing the time available for actual snorkelling). It also turned out the same boat is used as an ordinary ferry between the three islands. Instead of snorkelling from the boat we had to get on small longtail-boats first (jamming in as much people as they could) and in the afternoon we were dropped at a beach on Ko Tao. The promised coffee in the morning (because of having no breakfast I really needed that) was not there. Lunch was served on the ferry pier on Ko Tao. The guides were incapable of doing a good job and mainly shouted at the people in Thai (there were only tourists so why not in English???) so no-one knew what was going to happen. My advice: stay way clear of this company and preferably book a tour with a smaller speedboat (which does cost a bit extra). Part of the Thailand 2008 travel blog |
