Sea Sar Hotel Kimpun
Sea Sar Hotel Kimpun Reviews
Bungalow style Accommodation Feb 11, 2013
The hotel located close to bus station in Kimpun with huge land and attractive bungalow style and plenty of greenery gardens surrounding the hotel. It looks very peaceful and beautiful with chairs outside the garden near the reception area to enjoy the scenery.
We have pre-book this hotel by phone a couple of days before we arrive there as we heard it is busy season everywhere in Myanmar city. When we arrive at the hotel, the check in is fast, smooth and efficient (as our booking is ready), however we need to pay in advance, otherwise the receptionist held our password until we pay the room in full.
The receptionist speak English well, friendly, helpful, and gives advice regarding the truck schedule to go up to Golden Rock (Kyaktio) and he even show us the bus station where the truck park and waiting for the passenger, and speak with the driver to let us in the truck which actually special for local Myanmar only. However, no local map provide in this hotel.
We have room at a newer building in front of the main entrance facing the garden and parking lot (despite parking lot is not far from our room, we still heard the birds singing just before sunset and early in the morning).
The bungalow itself look really nice with balcony outside and a couple of chairs and table to sit and enjoy the garden and scenery. The room is clean and basic but big, with several windows, comfortable double bed, one small stand table, a couple of chairs and table inside the room, refrigerator and small table to put our stuff, old but working air condition, big fan, and big hanger to hang towel and clothing.
The bathroom is really basic and very spacious with standing shower but hot water is not working and we only have cold water while stay there. The water pressure is not good, water just trickle and it is difficult to have proper shower and take such a long time to get the water. The price of this hotel is usd 30 per night for two people including breakfast. Breakfast is basic and serve at the lobby and consist of toast, a couple of eggs (fried or omelets), bananas, water melon, tea or coffee.
The hotel also own a big restaurant at the main street (not far from the main hotel - there are one other hotel with the same name but without garden), serve Myanmar and Chinese food, with good selection of food, very tasty and reasonable in price. The service is good and the food arrives quickly, and hot. It appears more local eat at this restaurant than foreigner and it seems the restaurants also serve as rest area for local pilgrim to Mount Kyakto.
Outside the hotel, is actually a busy market day and evening with plenty of vendors selling traditional Myanmar desserts, mostly local Myanmar restaurants, handy craft shops, etc. It is a nice stroll around the area and very quite after 9pm.
