Seriously... what did the Indians do with the old archaeological sites left by the Portuguese??
Well, they destroyed them all! It's revolting to see the end product of such stupidity.
While strolling around, I found the churches to look to "washed up" in white, it was so strange because that style of churches were supposed to have frescoes, tiles and old stones/tumbs on the ground...
So, we entered in one of the churches that was closed by the archaeological workers and saw the most horrific scene... a bunch of construction workers randomly painting all the walls and ceilings covered with ancient frescoes, with some cheap white color.
Literally, they listening loud bollywood music and painting over all the history, erasing all the frescoes, the ancient golden painting, etc...
I felt so upset with this. On another church, they covered the ground with some ugly bathroom type of tiles.... underneath, there's the ancient stones and graves, sculpted by hand the Portuguese, with the names of everyone who lived in there and was buried in there, the navigators, etc.
I was so upset i talked to the priest who confessed he was outraged with the whole situation, but could do nothing as the government ordered the destruction of the ancient frescoes and ground.
I took some photos, where we can still see the hand painted frescoes, the last site of them and I will make a formal complaint about this situation.
