I took a slightly different route home from work tonight, so we could focus on the bizarrely silly world of Scottsdale, where I work.
Scottsdale is a city that is part of the Phoenix Metro area. Where the rich and the beautiful come to gather. They like to be fancy here, but in very strange ways....
Have you seen the movie "Peter's Friends"? I like that movie. In that movie, there is a line where an Englishman who has moved to Beverly Hills takes his starlet ...

2 nights in Scottsdale, ARIZONA, yeah! (Well the Friday night was supposed to be in Phoenix, but my friend Dante ditched me). Have I mentioned the fact that I’m very, VERY spontaneous? In case I forgot, I’m. The down side to being spontaneous is that it sometimes drains my pocket. The outcome of my adventures are always priceless, I convince myself. You be the judge. The original idea was to spend the weekend in Phoenix with my newest TB buddy Jeffrey, also known as Dante (www.travbu...

Scottsdale, how do I describe thee? Let me count the ways.
Scottsdale is like if you gave all the robots from WestWorld nothing to read but Hollywood tabloids and let evolution happen. It's a white trash version of LA, with Cactuses and fountains. People drive hummers and escalades, and for fancy occasions, they rent stretch hummers and stretch escalades. The downtown is filled with boutiques that sell those "fantasy" paintings of dolphins and "designer" lines ...

From San Diego, our next stop for the night was Scottsdale, Arizona. It was a long drive and not a lot of time to stop and stretch our legs, so the perfect opportunity to get to know one another. Marie, the tour guide picked on me first to stand up the front of the bus and tell a bit about myself. At the time, I was working as a flight attendant so I stood at the front of the bus and gave a safety demonstration. I demonstrated how to use the windows as emergency exits. I also showed the...

Just so very glad to be out of LA...Been sneezing quite a bit since I got here.. I wonder why, as I can't imagine the pollen levels here to be worse.. strange.

... I came to the United States almost one year ago ... I wanted to be an au pair ... I really had no great expectations, which might be not a bad thing ... so I would not be disappointed.
I wasn't disappointed

Some friends and I met at Saddle Ranch in Old Town Scottsdale to eat some lunch. I don't know if the portions are really that big but the actual serving plates are HUGE!
We also had to have a couple green beers in honor of the irish =)

So here we are in Arizona, we had dinner with the beautiful Angie at the Tommy Bahamas restaurant who knew there was a Tommy Bahamas restaurant? well it was really good and I had a great time hanging out with Angie, and getting to know her. She then took us back to the airport and we dozed off in the quiet rooms till like 5am. Private terminals of airports can be amazing, they can have places to sleep, kitchens and showers, I could live there! So we got up ...

Returning
home, we cruised through Payson and the parks, basking in the beauty
of AZ. Before entering Fountain Hills, we were gifted with brief,
cool showers! Once the showers
ceased, the heat wave engulfed us! Oh, the scorching heat!! It was a
sure sign that we are home, at last!

After a great trip to SoCal for the 4th of July two years ago, I decided to return for round 2. This year however, we partied on Mission Bay rather than Pacific Beach. Still a great time!
