Bothwell, Scotland, UK -› Banknock, UK -› …
Mark and I got married in my church in the village of Bothwell, about 20 miles outside Glasgow. We had some photos taken at Bothwell Castle and our reception at Glenskirlie House, an amazing restaurant in a place called Banknock.
An amazing day...wish we could do it all over again!

SUNDAY: DAY 31: I don't have a journal for this day so bear with me. I'm not sure why I didn't keep notes, probably because it was our last full day which is always depressing to us. Our stops for today were places that we missed or were closed that had been on our itinerary. The first one be…

After the last one fell through, Bondy and Hannah came up with the goods and organised this TB Meet up. It was brilliant! Somehow, via promoting/bullying, there was a good turn out for this meet up. The Attendees were:
Me, Bondy (Bondy2007), Ashley (ashleynpearson), Hannah (hanna…

Step back in time on Scotland's only Castle Trail. Aberdeenshire is matchless in the richness of its castle tradition, and Scotland's Castle Trail brings together some of the most splendid examples of castellated architecture together on a…

Edinburgh, Scotland, UK -› -› …
After this trip, I now know this to be true: "What you don't know can't hurt you."
I have never seen ghosts nor experienced anything close to the paranormal (and I'm not complaining :)). However, I do have a wild imagination and I tend to torture myself for weeks aft…

So there'd been a meet up organised in Edinburgh for August which I couldn't make but it had fallen through anyway. So as I'd planned on heading to Edinburgh, I set up a new forum to meet locals of the area. Well in the end we only had 3 locals of Scotland and none of them from Edinburgh!! Haha. It…

Dublin, Ireland -› Drogheda, Ireland -› …
All right, the title is a little retarded. My flight made it into Glasgow, Scotland right on time. I just wanted to pass through Glasgow, it was a neat city to see walking from station to station but I didn't really have time to see it on this trip. Hopefully some day I will go ba…

Our first full day to delve into Scotland! Since we had retired Saturday night around Scotland time
after staying awake for about 40 hours, we arose a little late…but with no jet
lag issues. The day’s plan was simply to
rendezvous with Chip and his adopted family for dinner at th…

Our last morning in Edinburgh. We ate breakfast at the Hotel Ceilidh-Donia followed by packing and a taxi ride to the airport. We flew home to Minnesota through Newark and encountered a 4 hour weather delay due to storm that developed over the airport as we were waiting on the tarm…

Fort William, Scotland, UK -› -› …
It’s the final day in Fort William. I wake later than usual. Somebody has let elephants practice break-dancing on my bones in the middle of the night… well, that’s what it feels like anyway. I do not feel human, but attempt to at least look vaguely like one as I limp do…

I was a little nervous going over the ocean for the first time but everything went fine except for being unable to sleep on the plane. Too much noise and some turbulence combined with my first long 8 hour flight and the excitement of being out of the USA was the cause of this. I was going with one …

Picked up my friend at 11.10am on Saturday morning and we headed off from Motherwell. Joined the motorway and I know for the next 1 hour it would be a constant 60mph…great!! We travelled over the Erskine Bridge which has great views by the way!...then started gradually heading north..

Me and my friend, Jena, were off on a 4-day jaunt to Scotland recently. Probably not the bits of Scotland that any normal, sane person would be inclined to go to, but Scotland nonetheless. It was an entirely silly trip, but I've tried to avoid too much inside jokey-ness to this post.&nb…
