What were we thinking? A road trip to where? Amsterdam. How far is that anyway? We had no idea but we would soon find out the hard way. As I recall, it was Wed. night we were having dinner at the Taj Mahal restaurant in Schweinfurt. Enjoying our tandori dishes and red h…

I have been told that Schweinfurt translates to "pig crossing". They eat alot of pork in Schweinfurt. Maybe this is the reason they decided to honor these tasty animals.
Spread out over the city you will find 2 meter high, fiberglass statues of pigs. The themes are a reflection of their sponsors. The total number remains a mystery. Here are some of the ones we have seen during our short stay here. Hope they make you smile. Enjoy!

Schweinfurt, Germany -› -› …
Most of us spend a good deal of time planning, saving and dreaming about traveling to distant lands. Seeing wonderful places, meeting interesting people and taking pictures to share with friends. Sometimes we forget how beautiful our own city is and how blessed we are to live in our own little city. This is why I decided to write this blog and post pics so I would not forget how beautiful my "home sweet home" really is. Enjoy and come visit.

Although I had lived near this town for some time, it seemed I would always discover something new everytime I would take a visitor downtown to explore. On this trip with my in-laws, I discovered this little history museum nestled right in the heart of the downtown area. The building bl…

People in Germany really honor their dearly departed in special ways. They bring fresh flowers, water plants and even clean the headstones. This blog is designed to respectfully preserve these cherrished memories and honor the dedication of family members who carry on this tradition of remembering and caring for the place of rest. God Bless and enjoy.

This was my second trip to Amsterdam since arriving in Germany last fall. The first time was a short weekend trip with a couple of friends. We drove to save time and money. This time I took the train from Schweinfurt and joined the TB meet-up for the Queen's Birthday. Good times. I love Amsterdam. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
