When visiting Acadia National Park, make sure not miss Schoodic!!! Aug 24, 2008
Yes, unlike the part of the park that is on the island, and features the loved loop road, Schoodic is free! and just as beautiful (if not more).

The Schoodic Peninsula is the only part of Acadia National Park that is on the mainland.

Make sure not to miss it, since most people go to the part of the park on MDI (Mount Desert Island, Schoodic is usually much less crowded. Schoodic also has a nice loop that goes around the peninsula, with the highlight being Schoodic Point, which if you go there in the right conditions you will see huge waves crashing on the cliffs.

It's a must see!
