The last medieval street in Bremen Sep 19, 2015
Unchanged since the Middle Ages, Schnoor is an exceptional street in contemporary Bremen. Once it was a residential area of poor fishermen. In 1959, the Senate of Bremen decided to keep the only surviving medieval street as historical monument. Most houses have been converted into shops and restaurants. This street is a major tourist attraction with crowds of tourists, so it is hard to find a place for an untroubled photo. On the other hand, tourists help to create jobs and to maintain houses. Many offered products are fancy enough to bring them as gift, most prices are reasonable and most restaurants are usually not overcrowded.
