Nice atmosphere with lots of personality Dec 03, 2011
Welcoming (and noisy) bar with plenty of personality... come in, have a seat with some strangers (who may or may not speak the same language) and have some stale pretzels lol... that's the name of the game here... good news, it is open late and only a block or two from the Marienplatz! The beer was reasonably priced, and of course the crowd breaks into a song with no warning! Sadly, I don't speak German (much) and thus I had to just sit and enjoy watching the locals/patrons belting out some hearty tunes lol The crowd was a nice blend of young and old... and since it was 12am, the people ranged from friendly to stinking drunk (but still friendly) :) This may not be the most popular place in town, but def worth checking out if you are in the area! Lots of variety on the beer menu, btw...

Sounds an entertaining place for a beer and pretzels, even if the pretzels are stale!

Schneider Weisses Brauhaus Jul 11, 2009
Here we go again, yet another wonderful Brauhaus in the middle of Munich. Schneider Weisses Brauhaus is situated only 300-400 meters from the Munich Rathaus or Town Hall. This place looks very much like all of the other ones; white walls, dark tables and rounded windows. The waitresses are in dark blue dresses and blue chequered shirts.

The atmosphere these places are always good but there must be a lot of people getting married the coming weeks because the city and this place as full of stag parties.

I tasted two of the local brewed beers here both being very good. The first one was the Schneider Weisse Original; a little bit Christmas scent and Muscat nut. The other one was a strong beer (Bock bier) for being in Germany the Aventinus Weizenstarkbiern which held 8.2 degrees. The colour was influenced by chocolate and there was a light fruit taste in it.
