Schönbrunn Zoo Mar 12, 2011
Schönbrunn Tiergarten is the oldest zoo in the world. Its in a really beautiful area of Vienna, with lots of animals. It was once owned by the Imperial family but was then opened to the public. The buildings at Schönbrunn are so historic and beautiful.

There is an aquarium with loads of exotic fish and sharks, theres a polarium with different breeds of penguins like the ones you see in the film Madagascar :) theres koalas, pandas, lions, tigers, jaguars, cheetahs, polar bear, rhinos, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, meercats, lemurs, flamingos, and a lot of other random animals. All the animals have big enclosures. The best part of the zoo is watching the Sealions at feeding time, they perform and its really cool.

The entrance is €14 for an adult, I´m not sure how much for a child, year tickets are also available for €35. It´s opened from 9am - 5.30pm daily. I´ve been to quite a few zoos over the past few years (due to studying animal behaviour) and this is by far my favourite!

Well set up Zoo in Vienna Aug 11, 2009
I always like to visit a zoo and while visiting Vienna I just couldn't resist. This zoo was once the privat zoo of the imperial family and is now open to the public.

At first glance I think this zoo gives animals a rather good space. It still isn't what they would have in the wild but for a zoo it is pretty good. Besides all kinds of animals from other continents they also have a whole farm from the Austrian region Tirol relocated to this zoo including the animals. It is a nice addition to this zoo and I can truly recommend a visit.

I was there a couple of months ago and liked it too, it's the oldest zoo in the world if the signs are to be believed :-)
