Scheveningen is part of The Hague, along the coast of the North Sea. It is a seaside resort with a long beach, an esplanade, a pier and a lighthouse, and also comprises a harbor, both for fishermen as well as recreational sailors.

Famous attractions are the Sculpture museum "Museum beelden aan zee", fireworks festival in the summer, the "Nieuwjaarsduik" winter swim on New Years day and the annual sand sculptures competition.

The Kurhaus, a major focal point and symbol of Scheveningen, is a famous restaurant and hotel located near the beach. The harbor houses many restaurants and bars. In the summer, Scheveningen is a very popular destination for tourists. There are boardwalk cafes set up during March to September period, great way for a chill out by the beach.

Scheveningen is only a short tram ride from the city centre of Den Haag (The Hague) though once there you shall not wish to leave, there is so much to see and do. Well worth a stay for the weekend.
