Scheveningen is part of The Hague, along the coast of the North Sea. It is a seaside resort with a long beach, an esplanade, a pier and a lighthouse, and also comprises a harbor, both for fishermen as well as recreational sailors.

Famous attractions are rhe Sculpture museum "Museum beelden aan zee", fireworks festival in the summer, the "Nieuwjaarsduik" winter swim on New Years day and the annual sand sculptures competition.

The Kurhaus, a major focal point and symbol of Scheveningen, is a famous restaurant and hotel located near the beach. The harbor houses many restaurants and bars. In the summer, Scheveningen is a very popular destination for tourists.
