On to the seaside resort
neighborhood of Scheveningen, via the tram where Rudolph taught us how to use
strippenkaarten - a strip card you use to get around by bus or tram in the Netherlands. You can pay cash when you jump aboard local
transportation, but it is a lot cheaper to buy a 15 or …

Scheveningen is a lovely seaside resort near to Den Haag (The Hague) and is easily accessible from the city centre via tram. It is a hive of activity for both young and old alike, the busiest and most bustling beach resort I have visited so far here in The Netherlands. I first came here last S…

In Scheveningen, my birthtown there is a touristic place called Madurodam.
For more than 55 years Madurodam has been the smallest city in the Netherlands. Canals, gabled houses and all kinds of other typical Dutch scenes: the miniature city offers you the highlights of the …

As promised to another TravBuddy, here's a photoblog of some Dutch beaches. Because I only recently bought a digital camera, and it is autumn in The Netherlands, the photos are not as sunny as I would like. Since I'm not much of a 'photoshopper', I show you the truth. The photos are made in 'Scheveningen', 'Kijkduin' and 'Noordwijk'. Enjoy!

Scheveningen was one of my favorite places on the Netherlands, so it was the first place I wanted to show Doug when he got here. Off we went, and arrived on the tram with no problems, to find thick frost on the sand. It was gorgeous. There was a horse training, several dogs, and a…

We wanted to see what a seaside resort here would be like, so we stayed on the tram, past The Hague and reached Scheveningen. It is a very highly developed area, with numerous hotels and apartments and a very long, sandy beach.
All along the beach there are numerous terraces with rest…

I live in Scheveningen, just 5 minutes stroll to the beach.
Useful to play frisbee. There are also lots of activities such as kite surfing & surfing.
The best thing about Scheveningen is the dunes ~10mins away & it's fantastic for cycling & nature spotting
Usually great sunsets, I like to capture a few random photos now & then

This is the year that everything is gonna be different. That were the first words I spoke in 2008. I'm gonna do more and I want to see more of my own country. I read a question from somebody in the forum: If you want to see more of the world, shouldn't you start at you own country?
That is what I want to do this year :-)
