Although still listed as the "Village of Schaumburg" this sprawing developed major suburb of Chicago in Illinois has a population of 75,386 as of the year 2000. Along the I-290 freeway and the I-90 tollway interchange, you will notice Schaumburg has its own skyline and major industrial firms like Motorolla have their headquarters in this growing community.

Schaumburg is also famous for one of the oldest and largest shopping malls in the country, Woodfield Mall complex, which has several large movie theaters and over 300 shops. There are also a few forest preserves and lakes in the area, but the main corridors carry thousands of people each day to and from Chicago.

The Village of Schaumburg has many fine hotels and restaurants, along with its own scaled-down versions of many attractions you would find in downtown Chicago, including deep dish pizza and comedy clubs. Here is the link to Schaumburg's Official Web Site: http://www.ci.schaumburg.il.us/
