Calle 1A, Panama City, Panama
Scene Panama City Reviews
Apr 26, 2006
We went looking for one of three Cafe´s listed in the lates Lonely Planet guide ´'Central America on a Shoestring' to find only the Coca-Cola cafe was still operating, but closed. It seems restaurants, cafes and bars open and close with an alarming frequency around here.
We discovered the Scene Restaurante at the very end of Casco Viejo on Calle 1A. A little more expensive than what you might pay in a regular restaurant but the service and food were exceptional.
Two of us ate for $30 each: 4 drinks and a three course meal all presented in 5Star style. Not what we were after or what we expected but extremely enjoyable.
If you are new to Panama City, note that most people do not dine until after 7PM. Scene does not open until after 7:30, although the bar downstairs is open earlier.
Best nights, with a crowd and live music, from Thursday to Saturday. Very Charming, even the bar staff wear Panama hats!
