Scandic Park Stockholm Reviews
Nice location and close some of the best places in the city Mar 11, 2012
I was back in Stockholm and I had booked two different hotels for the two nights that I was going to stay there that week. The first night I had booked myself in to Scandic Park Stockholm, which I had not stayed in before. I had stayed at many other Scandic hotels, especially in Sweden and Denmark and in general they are of good quality. Especially the new ones or the refurbished ones are usually bright with a lot of Scandinavian design.
This hotel had a really nice location in the city center and its just perfect on a good sunny day in the summertime as you have a park just in front of the hotel. Furthermore it is just 300 meters from some of the most festive places in Stockholm. It is close to Stureplan, where there is another Scandic hotel that I have stayed at several times. That hotel can be quite noisy on the summer evenings so if you want to be close to the party area but sleep quietly this hotel might be a better offer.
The lobby area was nice and wide and you felt welcoming as you enter. Behind the counter of the reception desk there was no one as I entered. It took some five minutes before some appeared because the guy had to fix something with the elevators. Finally there he gave his apologies, and his service was fast and correct; they found me quite fast in their systems. The hotel was quite full and I was given a room on the forth floor.
Many of the Scandic Hotels in Stockholm have a small selection of cold beverage and sandwiched that they sell from the receptions as they don’t have minibars in the room and I grabbed a coke and a salmon sandwich as my dinner that night. It had been a long day and I didn’t feel like going out that evening.
I entered the hotel room and it was nice, it was not that big but it was sharp and clean in its design, which is quite traditional in Scandinavia. The bed was queen size and it was really nice to sleep in, in fact it was actually a hard time getting out of it in the morning when my alarm went off. The room had white walls that went really well with the green and black color that they had used for the bed sheet, pillows and the curtains.
The floor was a nice wooden floor that looked pretty nice. In the beginning I didn’t like this because when I came in the snowy winter days but I later found out that it was quite handy because a carpet would just be too dirty. There was a small desk and a small flat screen. The Wi-Fi was free but you had to get the access code in the reception, so always ask for that when you check in. There was a small lounge chair that had no other function than it was a place to put your clothes when you are going to bed. The bathroom was quite good and spacious, which was nice as many of the hotels in the inner city have really small ones.

Stylish hotel at the corner of Humlegården Mar 14, 2010
As all other Scandic hotels, this one combines the consistent eco-friendly image with slick interior design and good level of service.
The location is very convenient: there is a fair choice of restaurants in the block, the animated Stureplan square is just at the distance 7 min walk, while a taxi ride to Arlanda airport will take around 30 minutes during off-peak hours.
The breakfast is decent, the only thing I was missing were those delicious Swedish meatballs I had before at the Scandic Anglais - a bit more upscale hotel located at the opposite side of the park :)
