Saveurs de PY Lyon Reviews
Another one French-Japonese association in Lyon! Oct 07, 2010
Pierre Mercier,P of Py who has worked in prestigious firms(Alain Chapel in Mionnay and Georges Blanc in Vonnas)and his partner Y for Yuko Matsumoto has open few months ago this restaurant located on the hill of Croix-Rousse(the hill that works),the former silkworkers area of Lyon.As I have read good things of this place featuring 2 diningrooms and a terrace on sunny days,I went there for yesterday lunch with my sister Marie and a girlfriend.
We had all the tantalizing suggestion of the day:a copious sauteed Canadian lobster lying down a bed of Breton butterbeans.Unfortunately the shellfish was a bit overcooked and bland...
No problem with the entrees:crispy "lashes" of poultry with green salad for my friend and aspic of fish soup with vegetables brunoise and prawns(lobster and entree 25 euro)
We washed them with a cheap(but ropy) white south Côtes du Rhône wine(18 euro).
Friendly service by a few experienced but smiling trainee and Yuko.
The lunch menu(14 euro)is a bargain,for dinner 3 courses menu :28 euro.
I should go back....
