Saveurs D'Antan Paris Reviews
Saveurs D'antan Jul 11, 2011
Come discover the culinary delights of France and Italy in this charming “epicerie” in one of the most typical Parisian neighborhoods right in the heart of the city. At “Saveurs d’Antan”, each product is carefully selected by one of the owners (a brother and sister duo) and comes from small producers across the French and Italian “terroir” respecting the local gastronomic traditions.
You’ll find a vast assortment of products lining the refurbished wooden shelves including 28 varieties of French jam (including an original recipe from Nostradamus), chocolates from one of the oldest French chocolate factories, and 8 different types of lemonade from a producer who has been in the business since 1856. Moreover, the delectable homemade baked-goods on offer, like the moist chocolate chip banana bread, follow the owners’ family recipes. Some classical gastronomic products include award-winning foie gras (gold medal 2009, silver medal 2010), French wines and cheeses, and other delicacies from the region.
This is truly the stuff French chefs and gourmets dream about for entertaining and cooking. Any of the reasonably priced products are the perfect way to bring home a taste of French food and culture. And who knows, you might have a chance encounter with one of the famous people who have stopped by.
