We start driving Saturday morning day of the wedding and we are about 5 hours away. My sister-in-law is getting married, and she's the type that loves to be the center of attention but will never admit that she loves it because it ruins her image. So we get to Bridezilla's wedding about 3 hours early and there's nothing to do. So we go try to find a campsite, because we're poor and it's cheap. We find out that it's an RV campsite, but you can set up a ten...

I recently spent 5 months in Augusta, GA for work and during that time I was able to visit Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC. Both are really awesome places! Actually, I loved Augusta so much that I'm hoping to find a job in the area and move there.

I'm spending 4 months exploring the US and what I want to do with my life for the next 5 years - a combination of road trips through the most scenic areas, camping, and staying in 2 of my favorite cities (Chicago and San Francisco). I'm packing my trusty Mazda Tribute with a box of books, a tent, a GPS system, and lots of music and heading out in June.

I attempted to cross the USA on moto in 19 days. Headed out East first, then south and west, and finally heading home by way of a northern route. It all came to an end when I lost my wallet in Florida. So the epic ride was reduced to 12 states, 3800 miles in just 8 days.

Savannah is a nice town, however, it appears that there is still a lot of work to do before it will be truely beautiful. Half of the houses are in a really bad shape and in desperate need of renovation. Nevertheless, a stroll through the city along the alleys, underneath old trees covered with Spanish moss and squares with statues and fountains is a good experience.
The riverside has shops and restaurants and has a comfortably touristy atmosphere. A peculiar detail is that the...

Axel and our son, Erik, took five days in November of 2007 and moved the boat up to a marina on the Savannah River, in Georgia, near Savannah. It was hauled out for dry storage. Now, it's April and Axel's with the boat once again for three weeks of working on it. There is some leaking into the interior from the deck that he wants to repair. Also, he wants to find out about getting a repair done to a small section of the aluminum hull. So, here I am, finishing out my last month of my teaching ...

Beautiful place to see! River street was a fun street to walk down and see the old stone roads. Tybee Island Lighthouse was also a pretty place to look at and see the Ocean.
