Most  pictures were taken Sunday morning and few on Saturday.   Shots were taken with a high zoom lens, sorry about the quality but quality suffers when you zoom to this range.  Waves were breaking about a mile out from the beach off the coast in Marin County.  I went up to the Marin Headlands and was awed but this show.  It reminded me of the Cortez Bank in LA (see Riding with Giants) great movie. 

I just moved back to San Francisco a month ago and I'm having the time of my life!!! This city rocks and I highly recommend it ;)

Sausalito is one of my favorite places to visit because my Aunt Mary Lou lives here.  If you haven't heard of Sausalito, CA, that is not surprising. It is located at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge and a short 20 minutes from San Francisco. It is a very picturesque small town overlooking the sea with a marina and harbor and filled with many souvenir shops/art galleries.  In the 10 years I have been coming here, it has never changed...quiet town with nice residents...fairly e...

San Francisco. What a amazing city. Before this trip, I had only been to the west coast once so I found a prime opportunity to visit when my friend Dave was coming back from Korea. We meet at the airport and caught a taxi to our expensive hotel at Union Station. Union Square is a busy shopping district filled with Window Front stores and cable car stops. Union Square is situated a couple of cable car stops from the main piers where we caught a ferry for a tour of the bay and alcatraz.

Our stay in Carmel was enchanting. But, we needed to press on to San Francisco, so did not have time to see nearby Monterrey. North of Monterrey, the land flattens and becomes agricultural, with many truck farms and the market town of Gilroy. This is John Steinbeck country. At last, we reached Pacifica and Daly City, just outside San Francisco.  We entered San Fancsico along the western edge of the peninsula, drove up around the Presidio and the base of the Golden Gate Bridge...

2-week tour of some national parks in Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and California, as well as a drive along California's Central Coast

My father was at a conference for astrophysics in Santa Barbara, I went along for the view. Drove from Los Angeles to San Francisco and back.
