I visited Saudi Arabia as part of the U.S. Department of State and The Kennedy Center's Jazz Ambassadors Program in 2003. This cultural exchange program sends a small number of quartets out to areas where the United States doesn't have a strong presence. Saudi Arabia is one on the nine countries we visited in seven weeks. The other countries where Egypt,Moracco,Jordan,Syria, United Arab Emirates, India and Turkey.

i would like to share my experience in desert with you here,i was there from Oct.24 till Oct.28, 2007, weather was nice, a little cold during night time. the occasion was a festival for camels "sounds weird,i know" it's a competition for the best cattle, if i could explain it well ;-)

I took my family to a road trip to Al Khobar and continued to Bahrain. At the border we are denied to enter Bahrain for we did not obtain a re-entry visa.

Best places I've visited thus far.

Riyadh, City of Gardens, the Jewel of the Arabian Peninsula, City of Culture, Opulence and Modernity intertwined with Medieval. A charming place to visit and the shopping experience is second to none.

In a perfect world with no flight cancellations or delays, and where someone could hop from plane to plane within 15 minutes, how many countries can a person visit in the shortest possible time? Here's one possibility using July 2006 timetables.
