Dine about town 2010 at Sauce Restaurant, Eat, drink! Jan 18, 2010
Sauce Restaurant is one of the restaurants in San Francisco participating in the "Dine About Town 2010" in January 2010. This event offers a fixed price (just under $35 per person for dinner), 3 course dinner. We looked at the menu online and liked it. Made the reservation on OpenTable, and off we went. One reason for picking this particular restaurant is the proximity to the Davies Symphony Hall, it's always good to combine a dinner with the concert. The restaurant does not have a big front, but is very deep and seat more people than we thought at first glance. The 3 course dinner included a choice of appetizers, the main course and a dessert. The amount of the food was not huge, so it was actually just right so we did not feel stuffed. All the dishes were delicious, the service was fast and friendly. We enjoyed it very much and would love to return to try some other dishes.

The main courses we had were: (1) baked mac & Cheese with David's old world ham & pulled ham hock, tillamook cheddar & four cheese cream sauce served with green beans & bacon (2) Pan seared Loch Duarte Salmon, spinach, tomato & bacon in preserved lemon beurre blanc balsamic reduction (3) Vegetarian Strudel with asparagus, Portobello mushroom duxelle, spinach, tomato, four cheeses & herbs wrapped in crisp Phyllo, with roasted tomato sauce.

For dessert, we sampled Cookie dough bon bons with blueberries, and strawberries & cream fresh with brown sugar. The strawberries were very tasty!!
