we rented a car at Thrifty Rent-a-Car at the Saskatoon Terminal. The clerk had given us an "upgrade" to a huge 4wd Dodge Durango gas guzzler which - in these days of soaring gasoline prices - changes our view of Thrifty's customer service policies.Our first stop enroute was in Rosthern where we paused for a look through the community where, as a teenager, my wife had spent a few summers with her cousins. I came to saskatoon from vancouver on sep.5, but the fly was canceled when we transfered  in calgary, we had to stay in hotel for one night, took the morning small flight to saskatoon. it's a quite deep impressiion about this trip. saskatoon have only 200 thousand people, quite small city ,  we meet a lot of old people in bus,  you can feel full energy young peole in campus, downtown is not noise as in vancouver,  you almost cant see people walking on the street. we dr...

Between Tisdale and Wakaw, we stopped to take photographs of a very long railway trestle on one of many lines abandonned for economic reasons by the two national railways. Truck transport of grain became much more flexible and economic - and the government pays for the highways.
