I know this is not exactly traveling pictures, but I just adore animals of all kinds...

Trip included Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzogovenia plus sidetrips to Hungary, and Slovakia

I spent 8 months in Bosnia on a research fellowship for graduate school. It was a great experience and I got to travel around the region quite a bit. I'd highly recommend the Balkans if you are looking for adventure, hospitality, great food. It is also gentle on your wallet. Enjoy the photos.
