This unassuming ramen place located inside the food court of the mitsuwa marketplace is not your highbrow meal. although at about $7 per bowl (and not the big bowls a-la vietnamese pho), it is on the expensive side. to be fair, for ramen, the price is just about right.
i came to try exactly one thing: the tonkatsu shio ramen. this type of ramen uses broth from pork bones. as a proud swine eater, this is the only choice, really.
the broth has been described by other foodie bloggers as "buttery." i must admit that it has that rich yet not heavy consitency that is full of flavor. it definitely packs in the flavor. the noodles are al dente, the pork pieces are tender and the fish ball slice were good.
one can order the set for about $10 - which, along with the bowl of ramen, comes with a bowl of hard boiled egg and a bowl of fish eggs over rice.
seating is hard to find during the lunch hour rush. but, one should at least try this new gem of a find.
