A surprising arrival to Santiago
posted by:
Aug 07, 2009 – Aug 15, 2009
Today is Monday and I finally had the chance to tour over Santiago. My friend's stepmother offered to show me around, I thought it was great. I only had three hours to tour downtown Santiago, so it's better to go with someone who knows the place. We first went to Cerro Santa Lucía, a hill in …

My parents left on Tuesday night. The last few days with them were much more enjoyable than the first few... mainly because we weren't dealing with replacing stolen goods. We made a few trips to places near the city--but OUTSIDE of the city, so clean air. It's quite a commodity here. I was sad to s…

Beautiful city with a center copied from the European cities. Most expensive city in South America :) But it also offers a lot.. It's a modern city and has wonderful transportation system. People are also similar to Europe, no south american spirit :(( You can find wonderful Chilean wines here for a really good price and..most important of all.. Santiago is a Love City :)) You can find couples kissing eachother on the streets, bars, parks, buses, in the lines, on the monuments, everywhere :))

Hiya all, Well here i am in Santiago, smog capital of Chile. The smog is so thick you can only really see about 5 blocks. Santiago is right next to the Andes mountains to the west, (which you can just make out some of the top outline of it in the above photo, if you are lucky) and has another s…

Arrival in Santiago
posted by:
Feb 08, 2007 – Feb 27, 2007
We slept in and it was almost 11:00 when we got out of the room. We figured (correctly, it turns out) that we'd missed the breakfast provided by Princess so we walked to the mall to find something to eat. Since we were not interested in the food court, it took us a while but eventually we ended up …

Flying with Copa air to Panama, for a quick stop over and change of aircraft. Then heading onwards to Santiago. Arriving late at night there is a hassle and a lot of fuss from people trying to get your business on giving you a trip to the hotel.. we (I) was almost tricked to go on a “non registe…

My first taste of South America and I have had such a good time in Santiago even though I wish my Spanish was so much better. The first day we arrived on Monday went on for about 40 hours as we crossed the international date line and we went back in time. I still don´t think my body has fully got…

I don't particularly like to do the touristy thing. Specially not in Santiago. In fact, I hate it. So I tend to avoid it. That being said, Carolynn was in town, and was going to couch it in my flat for a night. She wanted to get at least a glimpse of the Santiago described in the travel guide…
