Gorgeous Beach and hikes! Dec 31, 2013
I went here in off season. The beach is famous for surfing because of the 'witches rock". Watch out for crocodiles. We walked up and down the beach to look for jaguar prints. Some great wildlife viewing. Bring plenty of water and spare sock and lots of insect repellent, compared to other parts of Costa Rica the mosquitoes were quite annoying here. Head to the west of Playa Naranjo and hike up for a gorgeous lookoff.

The station has camping for a small fee but the most difficult part is getting there. 4 wheel drive highly recommended.
