Santa Fe Beach Club Bantayan Island Reviews
SF Beach Club - Insane Silence. Crazy Travelers: Approach with caution. May 13, 2011
Essentially, Sta. Fe Beach Club is easily the most prime resort in the island. It has a clean peaceful beachfront, and it is the largest resort in the island.
I'm just really torn about the location. It is right next to the pier so once the boat from Remegio Wharf decks, you're basically 5 mins away from the Beach Club. You can even walk to and from it. And there is nothing to worry about the noise. If anything, the Beach Club is eerily quiet. One bad thing about it being right next to the pier, however, is that, it is farther from the Poblacion (where all the restaurants and hotspots are) than all the other resorts in Bantayan Island. The expenditure from riding the motorbikes (ave. P25 pax, one-way) or pedicabs (ave. P15 pax, one-way) waiting outside the resort to the Poblacion and back tends to rack up if you're staying long.
A good thing about it being in front of the main entryway to outlying islands is that, if you plan to go to Virgin Islands and the other islands off Bantayan, all you have to do is go down from your room, walk about 5 meters, and hop on the awaiting motor boats.
The Beach Club also does not have a TV in the room. And there is no Wi-Fi either. I don't know why they don't, seeing that other smaller resorts in the island do. I'm guessing that they figured that they're doing you a favor by cutting you off from the outside world. I'm actually starting to think that the Beach Club's purpose is to relax you to a state of comatose. I just think that for the amount of money they're asking for for their rooms, this lack of basics is disheartening. There is a TV in the small common room downstairs by the in-house restaurant (which will cost a budget traveler an arm and leg) but the TV and the resto close at 9 pm every night. So yes, if you're a person who gets bored really easily, you'll go crazy here - and I mean that in a bad way.
If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the place to go to. There is something relaxing about the place being all-white. By the beachfront there are white covered sunbeds and I kid you not when I say that laying there at sunset, with the place being insanely quiet, and looking at the picturesque boundless sky and sea in front of you... it is the next best thing to Zen.
So in summary, if you don't mind being in a very quiet resort where everybody minds their own business, and if you don't mind being away from where the action is, then you should stay here.
