Santa Anna Barcelona Reviews
Great Food, Great Service, Great Little Place Jun 07, 2012
Given that it was our last night in Barcelona we wanted to dine out but not be stung like we were on our first night dining on La Rambla.
We had found Santa Anna down one of the side streets off La Rambla on our walk back to our hotel. Glad that we could remember our way back in the evening. From the moment we walked through the doorway we were made to feel so welcome. The restaurant itself is tiny and it's a bit difficult to explain exactly whether it's a restaurant, cafe or bar.
The menu is not extensive but there is something for everyone, ranging from seafood, meats, pasta and pizzas. We started off with a cold beer each and then decided on what to eat. I opted for the pork loin steaks served with chips, side salad and wild rice. Karin opted for the three mini burgers with side salad, chips and green peppers. The beers went down far too quickly and when we saw a huge jug of sangria being delivered to a table close by, we decided that this was a must seeing as we were in Spain.
The service was great, the food was cooked to perfection (I forgot my camera so, unfortunately, there are no photos) We even had room for coffee after the meal.
The bill for the two of us, bearing in mind we had two beers, two main courses, a bottle of water (I had a choking fit!!!) a litre jug of sangria and two coffees came to 38 euros, quite a bargain considering on our first night when eating directly on La Rambla it cost us 54 euros for two beers, two slices of tomato bread, a pizza and a paella.
Service was swift
