Sandusky Vacation Guide
Sandusky, Ohio is probably best known for the amusement park Cedar Point, which boasts 17 roller coasters, the most of any one amusement park in the world. While Cedar Point is probably the biggest draw to Sandusky, this town has much more to offer as well!
Sandusky boasts over 22 miles of shoreline within the city limits. It's also known for its beautifully landscaped parks. The city is currently working on the Sandusky Bay Pathway, a safe and beautiful walkway along the shore of Lake Erie with plenty of places to stroll, sit, and play.
It's easy to get to the Lake Erie Islands from Sandusky, which offers everything from all day island hopping cruises to direct routes from mainland to the islands (in season). The downtown area boasts some of the most beautiful and historic architecture in Ohio.
Sandusky is a great place for families with three major indoor water parks along with Cedar Point. Nearby each of the parks you will find family-friendly dining and entertainment such as fun centers with putt-putt, batting cages, go-karts, arcades, and much more. A majority of the movie "Tommy Boy" supposedly took place in Sandusky. However, none of the actual filming was done in in the city and the only authentic part of the movie was the police cars.
If you're in Northern Ohio and stopping by Sandusky only for Cedar Point, you'll be missing out on the charm that is Sandusky, Ohio. Don't forget to stop and look around at all this city has to offer.

I remember going to Cedar Point as a kid, with my sister, my mom & my grandma. We used to spend a couple of nights at the Hotel Breakers on Lake Erie, and visit the park. It seemed so huge then! Well, it still seems pretty big. Noelle & I drove up with a bunch of friends for the day. The pl…
