Sandals Negril Beach Resort And Spa Reviews
Friendly staff, beautiful beaches! Oct 22, 2009
We booked our trip to Jamaica through Caribbean-TravelDeals.com, and our stay was made fun by the friendly staff and beautiful, relaxing beaches! We found the rooms in this hotel pretty plain and small, so get a room with a view to make up for it! The gym was great, and despite the weather being bad for a few days (heavy rains) the staff was very accommodating -- they even took us waterskiing in light rain! Take the Zip-Line Canopy tour if you get a chance during your stay; it’s an amazing thrill! The water and the beach here were beautiful, but the beach itself is narrow. Food in the restaurants were OK for an all-inclusive, but we found that the Japanese restaurant was disappointing. Overall we had a lot of fun! This resort is quite expensive, but we were able to find a great deal through Caribbean-TravelDeals.com.

Our Best trip EVER Sep 09, 2009
OMG! This is absolutely the best resort I've ever stayed at. We booked with FAYETTE at TripGuy. First let me tell you about the booking process. We asked for some information b/c we originally wanted to go to Antigua. After seeing the flights we decided to go with Negri in Jamaica. I'm sooo glad we did. Fayette handled EVERYTHING including telling us about the butler services. Since it was our 10yr anniversay we thought sure why not - it's not that much more expensive. Taking Fayette's advice was what made our trip extra special!!! The butler will unpack for you, bring you drinks on the beach, set up ALL dinner reservations and any tours that you want to do - even things as simple as snorkeling. We literally didn't have to do anything but relax!!! Our butler even did an in-suite dinner with candles, champagne and pictures for our 10 year anniversary (this was free)!! They even reserved us lounge chairs on the beach with an umbrella - so we never had to find one!!! They also give you a list of activities of the day (which was great) We got the swim-up room. It was BEAUTIFUL!!! The bathroom was phenomenol! the walk in shower and HUGE tub was awesome! The bed was comfortable and I loved the pillows (I think we had almost 6 :-) We were close to everything! The room with the private plunge pool are not close to anything - so there is more walking involved. Our room and area was very private which was great and the fact that everything wasn't very far was even better. We stayed in room 6214 - that is the very end swim-up room and the most private!!! I will request that room for my next visit - we loved it!! Everyone at the resort is friendly. The food was great and very easily accessible at all times (try the ribs at the grill - FABULOUS). The beach is gorgeous! The water was great and the sand was great!!! It was soft to walk on and beautiful to look at! The entertainment (nightly) was great! The playmakers (during the day entertainment) was great and a lot of fun! My favorite thing to do at the resort was the snorkeling! DT (the captain of the boat) and Toby (the photographer and tour guide) were beyond entertaining!!! When ever we would go do an activity, we would stop by the photoshop and ask one of the photographers to join us. So we got pictures of EVERYTHING that we did!!! But the professional photographers are always around to get pictures if you please, so you can always just grab one! - we bought over $500 worth of pictures - they were all beautiful!! Other tours we took were the canopy tour (ziplinging through the jungle) and the Booze Cruise (to rick's cafe to cliff dive). The canopy tour was AWESOME!!!! the tour guides are hilarious! They make it so much fun that you don't have time to be a little scared! We can't wait to go back and do this again. The booze cruise was also our favorite!! You will love it!!! We went cliff diving which was exhilarating!!! If I could give this resort 10 stars I would!! Sandals Negril is absolutely the best place ever!!

My first all inclusive experience Jan 15, 2009
It really depends on what you want to do at your resort on how much you like Sandals Negril. The location could not get any better. It is on the popular 7 mile beach and is beautiful. For those of you that want to do outdoor activities this place is for you. They have many different water sports that are included in the price. If you are already scuba certified that is free also. All the activities were running when we were there. I was there for a destination wedding so we were able to get a great deal, but one couple may have to pay more. I would suggest the off season, I went in October. We had the basic room, but did not need more as were at the beach all day. The food is decent, but not much authentic Jamaican Cuisine is available. This place is for those that want to be active in the day and calm at night. The night entertainment is minimal, but the main bar is open late. There is one computer for internet access in the bar and none available in any of the rooms. For those seeking more entertainment I would suggest finding a way to someplace in town, but make sure to check out the safety first.

The beach was nice but the customer service was poor Dec 21, 2008
I was expecting a lot when I went to Sandals, in Negril Jamaica. Afterall, I visited Sandals in the Bahamas in June and it was excellent and I hope to go there again. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the Negril location. When I arrived I was given the tour of the resort and told there was one bar that was open until 3:00 AM, however, this was not the case. The first night it was closed at 1:00 AM so we had no place to hang out the rest of the night. The second night the bar was open until 2:00 AM but only served beer for the last hour. The other problem with this bar was that the alcohol seemed to be very watered down. There was a lot of guests complaining about this. The interesting thing is that this was not the case with the other bars on the property. My room had to be switched because there were tiny sugar ants all over the bathroom and were getting into our belongings. Because our room was a higher category we were to have 24 hour room service but when we tried to order a salad or a fruit plate at 2:00 AM we were told they were out. Also with our room we were suppose to have concierge service. There is a bar in the room and we were told if we needed something that wasn't in the bar to call. When I called the concierge to request a bottle of Jack Daniels I was told she would have to check into that and would call me back but I never heard from her. The food was average at best. We had went to check this location out because we were planning on having our honeymoon there after our wedding but now we will be checking another resort instead.

HORRIBLE - Not worth it Sep 13, 2008
We traveled to Sandals Negril in Sept 08. Having been to prior Sandals (Montego Bay & Bahamas, last visit 05) we were GREATLY disappointed with Sandals Negril. Our room was small, had ants and bed bugs as we got bit at night while sleeping. The food not impressive. Our room was outside the 4Cs so we heard EVERY noise made at the restaurant - and this was one of their better, more expensive rooms. The nightly entertainment is weak. We were not entertained or impressed by any of their entertainment options. There isn't much to do in Negril, most of the tours offered by the tour desk are in or around Montego Bay (1.5 hrs away). We enjoyed the zip line tour and the river walk (both 1.5 hrs away from Negril). IF we were to return, we'd stay in Montego Bay - the beach is just as nice as the beach Sandals Negril sits on... further down in margaritaville, the beach is much prettier than where Sandals is. The water activities we wanted to participate in were broken while we were there (8 days) (i.e. water skiing), the resort isn't all inclusive, they are constantly trying to sale you something and the snacks in your room are an additional charge, which is just absurd since you can leave the room and go to a restaurant for something to eat. It makes no sense to charge for those snacks. Photographers are constantly stopping you, which can be fun, but the pictures are well over priced. Their sunset pictures are pretty, but due to cost, we did not purchase any. The hibachi restaurant was not impressive, all meats were cooked to the same temperature. The only steak you could find on the resort was at this restaurant and they cooked it all the same - well done, I like mine medium rare. We were greatly disappointed with our stay and sent Sandals an email about such, the reply was full of excuses, not concern.
