Sand Gardens Hotel
Sand Gardens Hotel Bolgatanga Reviews
"Luxury" for African-middle-of-nowhere-hotels Feb 24, 2008
This hotel lies in Bolgatanga, upper north of Ghana, where most people are poor and a lot of them living on the streets. For that, this hotel is luxury compared to most guest houses in the area.
They serve pretty good food and have a big menu to choose from. To African standards, waiting time for getting your food is not to bad. If you get it served after an half hour of ordering it's fast. Prices are reasonable and the quality is most of time good.
You can have your food served under a roof with fans or in the large garden with mango trees. In March/April when the mango is ready, you can grap them and eat them at the hotel.
There are three types of rooms in this hotel. The cheapest ones, sharing bathroom and toilet at the end of the hall and a fan in the room. The average ones, with bathroom and a fan. The expensive ones, own bathroom, AC and a fridge. Rooms are mostly clean.
Make a reservation. Especially in the weekends it's busy. Not only with tourists/backpackers but also with the richer Ghanaians.
Absolutely the best place to stay if you're staying in Bolgatanga.
