Sanbonani resort and hotel

The Sanbonani is an ideal resort for trips in the north east of South Africa. It's very near Africa's most famous park Kruger, but you also should visit the valley north with the spectacular Potholes and God's Window.

The resort consists of a number of chalets, most with 4 appartments. Mine was on the ground floor with a terrace on a green belt sloping to a small river. Beware of hippos in the water and on the green! I had a constant visitor in the form of some kind of ibis, but luckily didn't encounter a hippo - this is the most dangerous animal in Africa, really.

The room is pretty basic, but clean. The bathroom is luxurious. You share a complete kitchen with other appartments of the chalet. However, it's not the inside , but the outside and its location that makes the chalet very nice.

The restaurant is big and offers good food. You can have dinner inside or out next to the pool. At the reception you can book all sorts of tours, but of course, game drives are most popular.
