Hearst Castle is about 45 minutes away from where I live, but I had never been there. It somehow sounded like a very touristy place, and going there wasn't high in my priority list. Figured out how to traverse the 1 without throwing up! The secret I figured out is to 1) not eat breakfast and 2) put your feet down on the floor of the car and clench your abs in the direction that you are swerving!So managed to make it to San Simeon with minimal discomfort! The next day we drove along the coast with the beach and ocean nearby.  We enjoyed the trip all the way south to the Heart Castle. The weather wasn’t a whole lot better when we got there.  But at least it wasn’t raining. As you can see the pictures, it was still very low clouds and overcast.
