High Quality at a Good Price Oct 01, 2010
My stay at Hotel San Pietro was all good. The staff here was very helpful and friendly. The room was totally clean with no problems. The bathroom was clean as a whistle and the a/c worked very well in the room. I received a lemonade upon checking in, thats a nice touch, I was thirsty. Wi-Fi is also available, but you have to pay and they have their own computers-so I just used them. Laundry can also be taken care of but I didn't check the prices and was surprised at checkout with the price, but thats my bad. They have a couple jacuzzis on the roof but I didn't use them as it was quite hot out during my stay. The breakfast buffet was a good way to start the morning, it was included with my room price so I had to make sure and take advantage of this- it runs from 7am-10am. The area is close to the beach so you can walk no problem, plenty of restaurants, and shops as well. They have an Italian Restaurant connected to the hotel, I never tried it, but people were usually eating there. The area is also pretty nice, you do not have to worry about a shady element here. A cab ride to the Old City is around 4-6,000 peso range, depending on the time of day. This is definitely an affordable yet quality place to stay in Cartagena.
free drink upon check in- no Colom…
nice room
did my laundry- a bit pricey

A charming and lovely hotel. San Pietro has a warm, open feeling and provides complimentary breakfast in the courtyard, free use of computers with internet and also has an Italian restaurant. The room was really nice and very clean, with the exception of no hot water, although this was not an issue at all, since the outside temperature is so warm. The one drawback would be that there is very little for a tourist to do in the neighbourhood the hotel is located in (Bocagrande). Although I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel, I would only stay there if you need to be in Bocagrande, otherwise it would be better to stay inside the walled city.

This hotel is located just 3 blocks from the front beach, in Bocagrande area where all the other and much more expensive hotels are.

The staff at Hotel da Pietro was extremely kind, always smiling and they were very helpful at any time. The rooms are very nice, they have all tv cable, phone, safe box for free, comfortable beds, nice hot/cold showers, a/c and you can use internet service for free.

Breakfast is served in the inner patio at open air, it´s kind of buffet... delicious! fresh fruit, cereal, a variety of natural fruit juice, breads, eggs, cheese... etc, BUT certainly the best thing is that even if you are a solo traveler you will not have breakfast alone because there are 2 papagayos, 2 parrots, a toucan and a very lovely monkey called PILI. They were rescued from people and given as gift to the hotel owner. The Papagayos come to pick some of your bread and... they will also teach you some spanish :) ´cause they can talk some funny phrases.

In the hotel you will also find the Italian Restaurant, they have a dish called the Pasta de las Islas del Rosario, which is a mixture between Italian and Colombian cuisine it´s made with the pasta of your choice, sea food, and coco milk. Delicious!

I rated this hotel 5 stars not because it´s luxury but because it´s excellent for its category and i felt absolutely comfortable being there... really like a queen.
