I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize from 2001-'03. This was my first time to visit since I left. My parents and I went together and we had a great time and I fell in love with Belize all over again. Beliz, Beliz, da fi yu an mi.

Two weeks in a beach villa on Amergris Caye. The people are very friendly, not your typical "tourist trap". The town, San Pedro, has everything you would need to make your visit comfortable. Not as cheap as some places I have been, but I AM going back next year!!!

Purposely Stranded There are 2 Cayes that people usually go to from Belize City.  We picked the less tranquil.  We needed some activity.  San Pedro is the city at Ambergris Caye.  The more tranquil is Caulker Caye.  It is a little further and cost a little more to go to the party Caye at 1 hour for 25 Belize.  Upon arrival, we were greeted by a cute little touristy street with lots of shops, hotels, and restaurants.  Ironically, this is the t...
