The Heineken JazzFest 2009 in Puerto Rico paid tribute to Giovanni Hidalgo. This year, some of the performers were: Latimbística [young talented band including Enrique Kalani Trinidad- Flute (PR),Niv Toar- Trumpet (Tel Aviv), and Paula Stagnaro- Congas (Peru)]; Dennis Mario y Kobana Negra; Oscar Castro-Neves; Berklee in PR; Conrad Herwig/Palmieri and Giovanni Hidalgo among others. If you are in Puerto Rico during the first week of June, I highly recommend going to the Heineken JazzFest.
