I should have started this blog a month ago when I started this project but I totally didn't think about it until now. In any case, I'm a consultant and my new project is here in Santa Clara, CA which is pretty much the San Jose area. It is my first time out in the Bay area and I'm busy explor…

So we headed out pretty early from Anaheim. Had to fight through LA traffic again. Man it's atrocious. North of LA on I-5, there's a section where they tell you it's a pretty steep uphill slope and to turn off your A/C or your car will overheat. Well... we didn't heed that w…

Christmas/bday at home. As always, a slight letdown, but I've
come to expect it. Spent a lot of time with the parents and a
good family friend. While not too exciting, it was nice to relax
and enjoy my bed at home for a few days.

Well, the past 5 weeks have been exhausting, exciting and fulfilling! Met a lot of interesting people, saw a bunch of weirdos, went to many historical landmarks and went to a bunch of random museums. All in all, the past 5 weeks have been some of the best times in my life thus far!

i've finally managed to escape the oh-so-fascinating world of hedge fund finance, and am now decadently indulging my long-suppressed wanderlust with 15 months on the road and around the world... *note: apart from the odd review (generally of something not found in your standard guide book), this is really more just a map of my travels than a proper blog, but if you want more information on anywhere i`ve been or what i`ve been up to, send me a message and i`ll see if i can rustle something up.

Today some chairlift operators thought I was mentally challenged. I accidentally dropped my ski gloves in the snow right before I was about to get on the chairlift. Apparently that act, combined with my blond hair, equals some big time mental problems. As the operator was running my gloves up to me…

The last time I went to the circus, I was 8 years old, and it was the Ringling Brothers in some giant arena where my family could only afford nosebleed seets behind a giant pillar. We could barely see the middle ring of the chaotic, boominly loud three-ring circus. There was only one row …

Nothing to note here except our flight home. We were able to catch the red-eye that got us into Austin early the next morning. It had been an excellent trip, my first to the Northeast. I'd like to see it in the fall some day.

So this may have been one of the best days ever. It started off geeky, like a 40-year-old living in his parents basement, with a tour of Google by Janelle's sister, and ended squealy, like a 14-year-old girl, with a screening of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2.I won't say anymore.
