San Francisco Hotel Reviews
Don't stay at San Francisco Oct 21, 2008
Be careful when arriving at Mexico City airport. The taxi drivers can be very persistent about trying to take you to a "good, cheap hotel" they know about.
Advertised as $50US on the internet, but charged $70 when I arrived. The staff were sarcastically polite. The hotel was run down, and the rooms were not clean. The bed was hard with a lumpy pillow and a thin blanket (Mexico City can get very cold during the night). Best thing about the hotel was the view from the window (see picture). Though another traveler who was staying there was placed in a room with NO WINDOW! I wish I had gone to Mexico City Hostel ( http://www.hostelworld.com/availability.php/Mexico-City-Hostel/Mexico-City/14253 ). Met some travelers who were staying there, and they said it was great. And for only $15 a night. A good place to go if you want to see wrestling (as they fill you with tequila before hand). I went to Mexico City Hostel to meet my new friends for a drink. We didn't have to leave the hostel because the hostels bar was great. Live music, cheap drinks and a great mix of locals and travelers. Part of the Gringo travel blog |
