We're in San Diego, last leg of the vacation trip and still well within the budget. If the Westin Bonaventure in LA was for the family, this one was for me, so I got to choose. I never thought about anything outside the Gaslamp Quarter or far from PETCO Park, so it was a tossup between the Hard Roc…

Today was fun too. I slept in, got packed and out of the room by about 10:30, and went over to Balboa Park for the day. My flight wasn't until about 7 pm so I had the whole day to enjoy in San Diego. I walked through the Air and Space Museum, which was really interesting. I …

I'm only going down there to work at the Del Mar Fair so my needs are minimal. I know I need something to wear at work (collared t-shirt, jeans, comfy shoes) and pajamas for night-night time. My daughter and I will be staying at our friends house and sleeping together in their BIG bed. For my …

Though I only had 1 day to see San Diego, it didn't take long to see
what a neat city it is. Flying into San Diego you get to see all of the
Navy ships lined up at port, which is truly amazing. Like all
California cities, the houses in San Diego are stacked on top of each
other. But unlike LA, …

We spent a day in San Diego. We started with breakfast and a long walk at Mission Beach, visited then the Harbor and after that downtown San Diego. Outcome...a really cool, clean and nice city, worth to stay and explore a few days/weeks/months if you have time.

Tom & Lin got up early (7am) and picked up Art over at La Vida. After a monster breakfast at a nearby Denny's we got on the road to the airport. Traffic was really light for this short holiday week, and the gas guage was at 1/16th when we arrived at the rental car return. I ha…

Drove mum to the airport today. I'm in a hostel now. I've spent alot of time in hostels and this is by far the most "fun". Cheap beer, box o' wine, basketball in the lounge, young, drunk, stoned college kids everywhere. It'd be a blast if I were 5 years younger. But fo…

Who doesn't love the zoo? When I was living in Southern California I had an annual pass to both the San Diego Zoo as well as the LA zoo. LA was not nearly as great, but I got some decent pictures. Enjoy!
