Maritim Museum San Diego Jan 08, 2009
The Maritim Museum is composed by several ships. This is some of those :
- The Star Of India, the older ship that still sails (and I think the most beautiful) - The HMS Surprise, a replica of a 18th century Royal Navy frigate. Maybe some of you will recognize the boat used in the movie Master and Commanders. - A russian submarine, the B-39. - The Berkeley, a steam ferry from the end of the 19th century - The Medea a seam yacht from 1904. There is also Pilot, a pilot boat for commercial ships entering and leaving the harbor and the sailboat Californian. This last one was not there when I have visited the museum All the people who love boats and the sea must visit this place. Not only for the boat, but also for all the informations and the models that you could find on every ship. The entrance is not expensive (14$ for an adult, 11$ for students and seniors) and if you love the place you can upgrade your ticket for a free general admission for one year for only 5$. A lot of different exhibits take place here all year long. Part of the 3 months in California travel blog
