San Diego Botanic Garden Encinitas Reviews
Beautiful Botanics PreviouslybQuail Botanical Gardens Apr 30, 2010
The San Diego Botanic Garden is previously known as Quail Botanical Gardens, located in North San Diego in the town of Encinitas, California.
The SD Botanic Garden is one of the most beautiful botanical gardens that I have been to. There are so many things to look at and activities for all ages. I really love the rain forest portion & waterfalls. There is also a gorgeous pond covered in Lilly Pads and frogs.
It is a great place to go to relax by yourself, or with a group. It is the perfect venue for taking photographs, reading a book, exploring, and more.
I am a San Diego Native and encourage visitors to check out Quail Botanical Gardens. It is located about 30 minutes from downtown San Diego/San Diego International Airport but definitely worth the drive.
There are a lot of other places & attractions to visit in North San Diego around Quail Botanical Gardens so it would be a great place to stop by on a day trip. It is so peaceful and relaxing you almost forget that you are in a city.
Quail Gardens/SD Botanic Garden really stresses conservation and "Going Green". If you have 4 or more people in your carpool you get free parking. Also, admission is FREE on the 1st Tuesday of every month.
There is a really quaint gift shop where you can get Earth-friendly souvenirs (not tacky souvenirs). The Garden is run mainly by volunteers and each volunteer I have encountered is very knowledgeable and accommodating.
Definitely go to SD Botanic Gardens if you have the time! :)
