We did a day trip from San Cristobal to this canyon which I thought was really awesome. I whole heartedly recommend this to anyone visiting Chiapas.
Beautiful canyon, 35km boat ride, crocodiles, canyon is up to 1000m deep at some point, lots of birds everywhere, really enjoyed it.

I visited Mexico in the summer of 2005. I flew into Oaxaca, almost drowned in Zipolite, traveled through Chiapas, to Villahermosa, and Veracruz. I loved Mexico! A place in the evening where people drink Coca-Cola, eat ice cream, and make-out!
