2!! spendid Romanesque churches in one village. Nov 06, 2010
I am saddened by the fact that I had to go on a second page on Google to find something neither an advert nor written by myself - spelling mistake and all!

The Boi valley in the province of Lleida is possibly the best approach to the National Park of Aiguestorte in the Pyrenees. There is a bus from El Pont de Suert.

It is a beautiful valley that seems to have avoided attacks from invaders and its natural scenery is enhanced by some superb Romanesque churches at the rate of one per village until you get to Boi. Then you rise out of the valey to Taull and there are two, San Climent by the bus stop and Santa Maria in the centre.

When I was there in 1999 the ski resort of Boi/Taull was still being completed and there was considerable building in the village. However the development in the village appeared to be tasteful. I HOPE!
Santa Maria, Taull
