Samurai Japanese Vancouver Reviews
Dec 20, 2007
What surprised me about Samurai was that it was very good food in a hip location, i got mostly sushi, and it was cheap! The weather in Vancouver during the summer is fantastic and I had the luck of sitting on a street-side window seat. This offered chance to people-watch in one of the most eclectic and liberal neighborhoods in Vancouver while munching on Spider Roll, Vancouver Roll, Tempura, Teriyaki chicken, Miso, and Salad in ginger dressing.
The Vancouver Roll was your basic roll with (REAL) crab, Avacado, and Pacific Smoked Salmon. The ingredients were really fresh as the salmon was probably alive early that day. The Teriyaki Chicken left something to be desired, but I was hungry and it was cheap (like $7 canadian). I was also served a side dish which included pickled shrimp, cucumber, chiles, and rice noodles served in a sweet pickled cold broth.
Plus, my waitress was both friendly and gorgeous!
I think the whole meal came out to be about $18CA. And I was stuffed. Yes I ate it all...
