Samson Bar & Café Haugesund Reviews
Trendy place for a drink Jun 10, 2011
Samson Bar & Café is a trendy bar and restaurant located by the canal and only two block from the pedestrian zone in the heart of Haugesund. It´s a very popular place among the locals. They have both inside and outside dining.
Samson on the quay serves snack, lunch and main dishes - breakfast, salads, sandwiches, wok, tex mex, pasta & pizza, burgers and fish.
When we arrived the outside dining area was packed, so we got a table inside, but soon got a table outside. Like typical Norwegians we wanted to enjoy the beautiful sunny weather. It did not take long to get the menu, but ordering took much longer. It seemed like the waitress forgot about us. Since there was only one waitress in the entire place I guess she was busy elsewhere!
We both ended up ordering chicken burgers. They were served with fries, cole slaw and garlic aioli. It was an okay meal, but nothing exceptional.
After we had finished the meal and waited for what felt like an eternity to ask for the bill, we ended up getting up and walked over to the bar to pay. The service was not very attentive and did not impress me.
There are a few good restaurants along the quay, so I would probably not eat at Samson again, but it is a trendy place for a café latte or cocktails at night.
Samson Bar & Café offers free WI-FI.
Kitchen is open:
11 am – 10 pm Monday – Saturday
Noon – 10 pm Sunday
