Sampson Place Apartment Liverpool

I stayed here for a week with my partner earlier this month. She and i are big fans of the Beatles and have never been to Liverpool before.
What a dissapointment! The area is described as being in the 'exclusive georgian area' Well, its not exclusive its actually a dirty, crime ridden part of Toxteth, the place infamous for riots in the 1980's.
At the entrance to the apartment block was a pile of household rubbish and it stayed there for the duration of our trip-not surprisingly, we saw several rats.
We could not get the keys-we had to wait almost 3 hours, despite arriving at the agreed time.
The apartment was dirty, had broken furniture and smelled awful.
We enjoyed our time in the actual City-Liverpool has some wonderful buildings and there was lots of beatle stuff to see and do.
We had walked into town one night and when we returned, our car had been broken into and the steering wheel had been ripped right off. We had to have it taken away on a low loader.
We called the police and they took THREE hours to attend. When we asked them why it took so long they said they are very busy on Friday nights. A tenant from a nearby house said this is normal as the area (Toxteth) is known as the 'murder mile' due to the level of violent crime.
All in all,the worst trip we have ever taken. This part of Liverpool is really quite dangerous and we couldnt possibly recommend it.
