Beeing in Latvia, you have to try the Latvian ethnic and native couisine.
“Salve” – a restaurant that represents Riga city cuisine
The best way to express the uniqueness of the people in different countries, its habits and tastes is through ethnic cuisine.
Located in “The Blue Troops House” on the Town Hall square (Ratslaukums) Restaurant Salve is a place where different ethnic cuisines that were known in Riga got united under one menu which is called to satisfy tastes of inhabitants of the capital and its guests – all, who values quality and traditions, presented with knowledge of business, in an elegant city manner and sophisticated atmosphere.
The menu is predominantly based on traditional Latvian and Russian cuisine, but in addition the restaurant offers the traditional dishes of other ethnicities inhabiting Latvia: German, Ukrainian, Polish, Swedish, Lives’ etc.
Some of us choosed traditional Latvian sour cabbage soup and goat sausage with fried potatoes. They did not seem so satisfied with their food.
I choosed mixed salad with Latvian cottage cheese and sauce from sea buckthorn berries and Fried beef filled with dried plums, delicious!
On the menu you cold also choose between different ravioli, chicken, pork ears, crepes and pies. Here is something for every taste.
Part of the Riga has a special place in my heart. travel blog
