Trendy Place with Good Food May 17, 2012
Right on the harbour of Husavik beside the whale watching boat tours ticket booth, Salka is easy to find in this small village. History has it that this building housed the first farming cooperative in Iceland. The loud, classic R&B getting pumped from outdoor speakers caught our attention so we went inside. The music was very quiet inside, by the way. It's a moderate sized, 1 room, open-concept dining affair with a small bar at the entrance.

Lots of fish dishes on the menu as can be expected given the location, but other items like pizza, burgers, lamb and even puffin...Which I tried. (Sorry little puffin, but you're quite tasty!) The service was good and it had a modern, trendy feel to it.

Like everywhere else in Iceland it seems: Expect to pay between 1,800 to 5,000ISK for an entree. A glass of the house red wine was 1,000ISK. It was a good dining experience overall.
